Agricultural Technology May/June 2026 Issue VOL. 698 698

While existing smart farm systems have contributed to improving farm productivity,
they have also become a burden for farmers due to the need to install and control equipment individually
and the difficulty of maintenance. To address these issues of first-generation smart farms,
Ara Greenhouse is a second-generation smart farm platform developed by the Facility Horticulture Research Institute of the National Institute of Horticultural and Special Crops Science,
Rural Development Administration. It has significantly improved compatibility between equipment and the convenience
of control.
