First round of applications last month… 10 crop sectors, 5 livestock sectors selected Fostering a private-sector-led smart agriculture ecosystem through intensive policy support

On the 10th, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs announced the selection of 15 “Outstanding Smart Agriculture Companies” that will lead technological innovation and business expansion in the smart agriculture sector.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs established and implemented the “Notice on the Selection of Outstanding Smart Agriculture Companies” last March, and accordingly, has been selecting outstanding companies to which it will concentrate policy support. As a result of the first round of applications held from the 13th to the 26th, 10 companies in the crop sector (Green CS, Zint, Meta Farmers, Sae Farm, IO Crops, UBN, Ginong, KS Farm, Korea Digital, Farm Connect) and 5 companies in the livestock sector (Iontech, Agri Robotech, SS Networks, Mtreesen, Onfarm) were selected as outstanding companies.
The selected companies received high scores for their field applicability and growth potential, based on various technologies such as AI-based data agriculture solutions, complex environmental control systems, precision livestock management, and livestock barn environment monitoring sensors.
The validity period for the selected outstanding companies is two years, and eligibility can be extended up to two times unless there are serious grounds, allowing them to maintain eligibility for support for a total of six years.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs plans to select outstanding companies annually to continuously discover and nurture innovative smart agriculture enterprises and to strengthen the global competitiveness of smart agriculture.
Lee Si-hye, Director General of the Agri-Industry Innovation Policy Bureau at the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, emphasized, “I hope that leading companies will play a responsible role at the center of the expansion of smart agriculture, so that smart agriculture is not limited to a few leading farms but establishes itself as a fundamental agricultural infrastructure accessible to everyone.”
