Songok University signed a business agreement with Korea Digital, a provider of industrial sensors and smart farm solutions, to create a smart healing agricultural complex in the Chuncheon area.
Under the slogan, “Healing Agriculture that Talks to Plants, Starting in Chuncheon, Gangwon-do,” the project will realize “healing agriculture that talks to plants” by combining pet plant communication technology and AI smart farm technology to promote a paradigm shift in local agriculture and a sustainable growth foundation. According to Songok University, the technology enables communication and interaction between humans and plants by collecting and interpreting plant vital signs in real time based on biosensors.
The main initiatives include developing an AI-based plant communication system and smart greenhouse, creating a natural healing forest and plant communication experience center, operating healing tourism and education programs and online platforms, and developing healing products linked to local agricultural products. Songokdae expects to attract 50,000 tourists annually, create 50 new jobs, secure related IP and enter the global market, and build an ESG-based smart agriculture model.
“We expect this project to have a positive impact on the national garden project being promoted by the city of Chuncheon,” said Jung Yoon-hye, professor of smart farming at Songok University. “It will be a platform for Chuncheon to open the future of healing agriculture in an era where technology connects people and nature.”
