Jeollanam-do announced that the ‘2026 Jeollanam-do India Market Exploration Delegation,’ jointly promoted with the KOTRA Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Headquarters, has established a bridgehead for entering the Indian market through 11 export business agreements worth $12.97 million.

For four days until May 29, the delegation visited New Delhi, the capital of India, and Kolkata, a key city in the eastern economic zone, to conduct one-on-one customized export consultations with local buyers.

In particular, six companies from Jeollanam-do in the cosmetics, high-tech, and food sectors participated in the consultations, identifying local demand and discovering new business partners to lay a solid foundation for exports.

In the high-tech sector, Korea Digital‘s oxygen and carbon dioxide sensors received significant interest from buyers in the smart farm and manufacturing facility fields.

ABR’s battery recycling solution confirmed potential for technological cooperation and exports with local companies in alignment with India’s eco-friendly industrial policies, while SFC attracted attention by showcasing surfactants used in various products.

In the consumer goods sector, Yeoyu Cooperative’s functional cosmetics received positive evaluations from local buyers. Furthermore, as interest in K-Food from the Korean Wave grew, active purchase consultations were held regarding Daeryuk Food’s seaweed for gimbap and Seongji F&D’s rice cake products.

The Market Exploration Delegation achieved tangible results, including ▲ 11 export MOUs ($12.97 million) ▲ discovery of new buyers ▲ securing local distribution networks in India ▲ laying the foundation for cooperation in high-tech and eco-friendly industries ▲ and confirming the potential to expand exports of K-Food and cosmetics.

Shin Hyun-gon, Director of International Cooperation for Jeollanam-do, stated, “The market exploration delegation achieved significant results by confirming the potential for Jeollanam-do companies to enter the Indian market and establishing a foundation for cooperation.” He added, “We will support follow-up consultations and buyer management to ensure that these achievements lead to actual export contracts.”
