K-Smart Farm is leading to actual export results beyond policy support. The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and KOTRA announced on the 14th that they held the ‘2025 Southeast Asia Smart Farm Roadshow’ and signed a total of 171 export consultations and a memorandum of understanding (MOU) worth 14.72 million USD.

This roadshow, held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and Vientiane, Laos from the 9th to the 13th, was designed to fully advance K-Smart Farm into the Southeast Asian market and establish a local customized cooperation model to respond to climate change and food security. K-Smart Farm, which combines automation and precision farming technology, is attracting attention as it responds to the increasing demand for advanced agriculture in Southeast Asian countries.

16 domestic smart farm companies participated in this event and shared various solutions such as control systems, cultivation facilities, smart equipment, LEDs, and water purification systems with local buyers. Vietnam and Laos are each promoting ‘digital agriculture’ and ‘Agricultural Development Strategy 2025’, and the policy foundation for introducing advanced agriculture has also been established.

On the 12th, the ‘Korea-Laos Sustainable Growth Forum’ was held in Vientiane, Laos, and the vision for agricultural cooperation between the two countries was also shared. Key figures such as the Vice Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of Laos, the Ambassador to Laos, and the Director of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Laos Office attended, and the Korea Rural Community Corporation, KOICA, and the Rural Development Administration also participated.

KOTRA expects that this roadshow will not stop at achieving short-term export results, but will expand into a package export model combining technology, infrastructure, and ODA in the future. Kim Myung-hee, Director of KOTRA Trade, said, “This roadshow is an opportunity to promote the technological prowess of K-Smart Farm and establish the foundation for sustainable agricultural cooperation,” and added, “We will strengthen our support for overseas expansion centered on the field.”
